About GII

"Sed iudicium currat quasi aqua et iustitia quasi torrens fortis"
— Our founding motto, from Amos 5:24

Who We Are
The Global Inequality Institute (GII) is an independent research organization dedicated to advancing justice and equality worldwide. We bring together scholars, educators, and young leaders to examine the structural forces that produce inequality — and to design solutions grounded in fairness, dignity, and shared humanity.
Vision

The Global Inequality Institute envisions a future in which every individual — regardless of birthplace, wealth, or identity — has the opportunity to live with dignity and purpose. We believe that inequality is not inevitable; it is the result of choices, institutions, and systems that can be redesigned.Through research, education, and dialogue, we seek to transform moral awareness into structural change, cultivating a new generation of thinkers and leaders who act where conscience meets inequality.
Mission

The mission of the Global Inequality Institute is to confront inequality through research, education, and youth empowerment. We conduct rigorous interdisciplinary research that exposes the roots and mechanisms of inequality.
We educate future leaders to think critically, act ethically, and design policies grounded in justice.
And we empower young voices across the world — through initiatives such as the Global Essay Awards — to question, write, and lead with conscience.By bridging knowledge and empathy, we aim not only to understand inequality, but to help end it.
